Terminology is a group of terms collected sectorally and systematically and is used for translation. In EU, they use many kinds of languages, so they have a terminology called as InterActive Terminology Europe (IATE) and can check parallel translations of a source language and a target language.
In Japan, we need talanslate Japanese documents to Asian languages as well as English in the process of internationalization. Recently I feel growing needs for translation of paper documents and Websites like manuals of products made in Japan, community information and guides for tourists.
We can find some examples to share translation sources these days. I think it is a good effort to share information about translations on Web like Minna no Hon’yaku and TAUS.
