As I was saying in our blog, terms of laws and ordinances have strict rules and we need follow them.
“削る” and “削除” are similar meanings when we amend the documents other than laws and ordinances, but in laws and ordinances they have clearly different meanings.
When we use “削る”, the structure of the document itself is lost. For example, if we express “第２条を削る。”, the original “第２条” is lost, Article 3 and later artciles become Artcile 2 and later articles, that is, Article 3 and later articles are moved up.
When we use “削除”, the sentence of Article 2 is replaced with “削除”. In the case of “削除”, the original Article 2 is not removed and the structure of the law remains.
Why we use thse two terms when we amend laws, for examlpe, if other laws or ordinances refer to the amended law and we use “削る”, we need amend the other laws changing the article numbers. In this case, we should avoid amending many laws and use “削除”.
There are many cases where laws refer to other laws, so we use proper terms to amend laws like this.
