AS introduced in a speach in the symposium held by Technical Japanese Association I attended the other day, to use a machine translation requires to write Japanese sentences clearly.
In this speach, the following example was introduced;
e.g. If you translate the Japanese sentence “友達とご飯を食べた。” with google translation, we get the English sentence “I ate my friend and rice.”
From this Japanese we should get the answer “I had lunch (breakfast, dinner) with my friend.”, but the google translation makes the clearly strange sentence (this person had ate his/her friend…).
We need make a Japanese sentence clearly in order to translate.
